LinkSwitch is specifically designed to replace linear transformer/RCC chargers and adapters with lower power consumption at the same or lower system cost with much higher performance and energy efficiency. LinkSwitch introduces a revolutionary, patented low-performance switch mode power supply design topology that competes with the simplicity and low cost of linear adapters, enabling a much smaller, lighter, and more attractive chassis than the traditional "brick." With an efficiency of up to 75% and <300 mW no-load power, a LinkSwitch solution can save the end user enough energy compared to a linear design to fully amortize the full cost of power in less than a year. LinkSwitch integrates a 700V power MOSFET, PWM control, high-voltage start, current limiting, and thermal shutdown on a monolithic IC.
