The powerful, power-saving Microchip 8-bit AVR® RISC-based microcontroller combines 8 KB ISP flash memory with read and write capabilities, 512 B EEPROM, 1 KB SRAM, 23 general-purpose I/O lines, 32 general-purpose work registers, three flexible timers/counters with comparison modes, internal and external interrupts, serial programmable USART, 1 byte-oriented serial 2-wire interface, 6-channel 10-bit A/D converter (8-channels in TQFP and QFN/MLF packages), programmable watchdog timer with internal oscillator, serial SPI connection and five software-selectable power-saving modes. The module operates with voltages between 2.7 and 5.5 V.
By executing powerful commands in a single clock cycle, the module achieves throughput of close to 1 MIPS per MHz, balancing power consumption and processing speed.
