The L6228 is a full DMOS dual bridge for motor control applications implemented in MultiPower BCD technology that combines isolated DMOS power transistors with CMOS and bipolar circuits on the same chip. The chip offers all the functions necessary to drive a bipolar two-phase stepper motor:
• 2.8 A OUTPUT PEAK CURRENT (1.4 A DC)
• RDS(on) 0.73 O type. Value @ TJ = 25°C.
• Operating frequency up to 100 kHz
• Choose between fast/slow decay modes
• With fast decay time quasi synchronous rectification
• Two independent offcycle controllers
• Stepper motor decoding logic (full and half step)
• Step drive
• Cross-conduction protection
• Thermal shutdown
• Undervoltage lockout
• Integrated high-speed freewheeling diodes
