Der MT8870D/MT8870D-1 ist ein vollständiger DTMF Empfänger, der sowohl den Bandsplitfilter als auch die digitalen Decoder-Funktionen.
Der Filterteil verwendet geschaltete Kondensatortechniken für Hoch- und Niedergruppenfilter. Der Decoder verwendet digitale Zähltechniken zur Erkennung und dekodiert alle 16 DTMF-Tonpaare in einen 4-Bit-Code.
