Low-power RS-485/RS-422 transceiver
The ST485 is a low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication. Each unit contains a driver and a receiver.
This transceiver draws 300 µA (typ.) supply current when it is unloaded or fully loaded with disabled drivers.
Can be operated with a single 5-V supply.
Driver is short-circuit current limited and is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that place the driver outputs into a high-impedance state.
The ST485 is designed for bi-directional data communication on a multi-point bus transmission line (half-duplex applications).
