Description:
The LM2575 series of controllers are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the active functions of a Buck (Buck) switch and are capable of driving a 1A load with excellent line and load control. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V and a version with adjustable output. These controllers, which require a minimum number of external components, are easy to use and feature internal frequency compensation and a fixed frequency oscillator. The LM2575 series offers a highly efficient replacement for common three-port linear controllers. It significantly reduces the size of the heat sink, and in many cases no heat sink is required. A standard series of inductors optimized for use with the LM2575 are available from various manufacturers. This feature greatly simplifies the design of switch mode power supplies. Other features include a specified tolerance of ±4% to the output voltage within the specified input voltages and output load conditions and ±10% to the oscillator frequency. An external shutdown is included, with 50 µA (typical) standby current. The output switch contains a cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown for complete protection under fault conditions.
