The TMC239 / TMC239A (1) is a dual full bridge driver IC for bipolar stepper motor control applications. The TMC239 is implemented in HVCMOS technology and directly controls eight external low-RDS-ON high-performance MOSFETs. It supports more than 6000mA coil current. The low power dissipation makes the TMC239 the ideal choice for drives where high reliability is desired. Additional drivers can be used to increase motor current and voltage. The driver transistors can be selected depending on the output current or ambient temperature. Internal DACs enable both microstepping and smart current control. The device can be controlled via a serial interface (SPI™i) or via analog / digital input signals. Short-circuit, temperature, undervoltage and overvoltage protection are integrated.
